We recently had the opportunity to perform all site work for the Weatherly Inn, one of the soon-to-be premier senior living facilities in the PNW.
After clearing the ten-acre site, we began excavation, which included exporting over 50,000 CY offsite to make way for massive retaining walls and basements. The schedule was tight, so we had multiple machines working within the small site to meet the general contractor’s demands. The building excavations were also extremely complex due to various grades and benches.
While concrete crews were forming and pouring the basements, our pipe crews laid all utilities, including water, sewer, and stormwater.
Arguably the most unique aspect of this project, apart from the massive export, was the 25,000+ SF of rockery and lock-and-load retaining walls. The walls support the surrounding earth while also maintaining a pleasant aesthetic for future residents.
