Back in 2016, we took on the largest project we had attempted yet, both in terms of job size and monetary value. The Promenade Apartments site in Auburn, WA is a 15-building apartment complex with an additional commercial building, which required a 90,000-yard export, three stormwater vaults, and a 40-foot-deep sewer pump station.
Even though Rino had never handled a site development project of this magnitude, we had a couple of guys in the company who had worked on big jobs, which helped us land the project. On this project, making sure we had the right team was vital to our success.
At one point, we exported 15,000 cubic yards of dirt in just one day, which is a nearly unheard of dirt move in this region. Getting our hands on the necessary equipment was a challenge for us because as a growing company, we didn’t have everything we needed to complete the job. We ended up having to buy new equipment in order to get the project done, which not only helped us complete this job but also set us up to be able to knock out projects of this size in the future as well.
